Yes, you ARE! I think your English is good enough, it doesn't have to be perfect. Look you ARE practising, which is good. All you need to do, just practise more, that's all.:loveliness: :handshake

Actually,my mejor in university is Spanish.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Spanish is very similar with English I think. I know a spanish song which has lots of words sound like English words. The song called MI CUERPO (My body), have you ever heard about it?

Mi cuerpo, mi cuerpo, hace musica. Mis ma nos hacen, mis pies hacen, mi bo ca hace'la, la, la', mi cuerpo hace cha, cha cha.

Is it the right writing? The English version of the song is:

My body makes music, it'e easy you will see. My hands, my hands go(clap, clap), my feet my feet go(stamp, stamp), my mouth my mouth goes"la, la, la", my body does the cha, cha, cha.

Bingo! It is for children, what a good guess.:D :victory: Because I'm studying Early Childhood Teaching, so I've learnt lots of songs for children. Most of them are English songs, but some of them are different languages, like Spanish, Japanese...I love all of them, especially there's a song called PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON, it's just so beautiful, even though it's a bit sad, but the tune is so beautiful. I actually dreamed that one day Aloys would sing this song, it would be fantastic!!

PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea,
and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff,
And brought him strings and sealing-wax and other fancy stuff.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail;
Jackie kept a look-out perched on Puff's gigantic tail.
Noble kings and princes would bow whenever they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name.

A dragon lives for ever, but not so little boys.
Painted wings and giants' rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened--Jackie Paper came no more,
And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain;
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his lifelong friend Puff could not be brave,
So, Puff, that mighty dragon, sadly slipped into his cave.

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.

Yeap, PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON is a very popular song for children learning English.  I knew it when I was a child.
I guess Aloys would sing this song to his boy(s)/gal(s)....  It's lucky to be his children :loveliness:

Good idea,Ziggi!

Thanks fou thinking of this good idea, many people who like English need  such a  way like this to practise English level. to support ALOYS with a different way.
Anyway, perhaps ALOYS will come into this .HA ha.......

WOW,i haven't heard about the song.
The first spanish song i've heard is Por que te vas(why do you leave).
I don't konw anything about spanish before entering the university, hehe
At the beginning I really think it's very difficult (specially the grammar )and i woudn't master it.
And now, already I could communicate well with people whose native language is spanish~~
As you said above, spanish is similar with spanish. For ex:language(lengua)diccionary(diccionario)……ect
A foreign teacher said that English don't have anything themselves only copy from Latin, Arabe and other language|||||||||
In fact,la lengua espanyola also have palabras from other languages as Arabe and  old Latin.
Emmmm……
When i was a middle school student,i like english and study well, speak welll, write well and beautiful.
As time goes by……my english is getting worse and worseTOT
So,i'm not sure if there anyone could understander what i said……
Thx for giving me a chance to practise ,maybe to improve^^
Gracias~~

I have never heard this Spanish song ,but I have heard others,I think Spanish songs are very beautiful, although I could not sing each one, even I do not know its name!
Actually, I like foreign songs very much, especilly English songs.AT this moment, I just wanna to introduce an English song called 'Jesus, walk with me' to you,I don't know if you ever heard it,or you like it? When I listen to this song,I feel very quiet and peaceful, and I can  forget every unhappy thing  around me.

Sorry I haven't heard about it. Is it a religionary song? Sorry don't know what to call this kind of song...kind of like carol? I acctually only know the songs that relate to my industry. I'm sort of over focusing on it, haven't got any time and chance to touch the other kinds of music, such as popular music...
Thanks for sharing your favourite song with us as well! Keep going...:pj_040

Good on you! :pj_040 When I was a high school girl, my English was totally hopeless, and I didn't like English at all. It's ture. :$
Your English is still good, not to worry, just keep practising, then you'll see the difference. :D

Re: Ziggi
Yeap, I like this song.  Thanks for sharing this beautiful song with us.   I'm not so sure of HULA BALULA.  Perhaps this is less common in our place.

English language was one of my favourite subjects in school, so as English Literature.
I used to communicate with people only in English.  However, after the reunification in 1997, people tend to speak more in Putonghua and write in Chinese.
I have also forced myself learning Putonghua by watching CCTV and listening to Beijing radio programmes.   Surfing around iChenkun is also a good source of learning native Chinese although I don't
understand everything the fans write  :P

To me, learning a language is not easy, especially when we don't have many chances for practice.
Let's take this as the channel of learning and practicing our written English!

This post is so interesting!
Chenkun is learning English now,and we are chatting in English now!
I have a question,how to say "探班“ in English?:P

Chen Kun is learning English now?  I think he speaks English all right?!
In the drama 再見溫哥華, he spoke in English with a Chinese accent.
I think this is very common for Mainland Chinese.

Yes, I agree.  It is very hard for an adult to spend a foreign language without any his/her hometown accent.  But, I think it is OK for him to being like that in the Show.  Because he is acting as a foreign student in Canada, not a local born Chinese.

1] Why certain pages are set with restrictions [阅读权限], e.g.

---- I guess this is sort of the Copyright protection. Only the registered user is able to view those posts.  The 2 points are the minimum requirement for registered users.  Any new account will have 2 points after registration.  But, I guess the moderators did not consider 1 thing when they set up this rule -- our diving master, Chen Kun, is not able to see those posts, either.

2] Is there any short-cut key for me to go from one section to another without landing myself back to the main page,

---- I am afraid not.  Unless you choose "open in new window" when you click on the "陈坤论坛" link every time.
