'Bullets' women still secret
Jiang film's full male cast revealed, but female leads unknown

BEIJING -- Director Jiang Wen and producer Emperor Motion Pictures revealed the rest of the male cast of "Let The Bullets Fly" ("Rang Zi Dan Fei"), but kept any female cast members under wraps.
Directed by Jiang ("The Sun Also Rises"), the film stars the director along with Hong Kong legend Chow Yun-fat ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon") and 1994 Cannes best actor award winner and Chinese boxoffice favorite Ge You ("To Live"). It is the first time all three have worked together, and Ge and Jiang's first on-screen reunion since Zhou Xiaowen's 1996 "The Emperor's Shadow."
Emperor Motion Pictures（英皇） and Jiang's Buyilehu Films （姜文的不亦乐乎电影公司）are co-producing the film with a budget of $18 million（关于投资的）. The two companies worked on Jiang's previous feature, "The Sun Also Rises." EMP is also handling international sales, including this week at the American Film Market in Santa Monica.（英皇负责海外销售，其中包括参加本周在Santa Monica的美国电影交易市场）
Shooting began last month near Beijing and is slated to wrap by the end of 2009. "Bullets" is scheduled for a fall 2010 release.（关于上映日期的）
The two leads are joined by Chinese actors Chen Kun ("Painted Skin")（关于坤的）, Hu Jun ("Red Cliff") and Yao Lu ("One Foot Off The Ground").
Noticeably absent from the dais were any of China's top actresses. Jiang said the film's producers would not yet allow him to talk about female leads, and he dropped no hints.
The film is a Chinese-style Western, featuring Jiang as a bandit chief in Sichuan province in the 1920s. Jiang rides into a small town pretending to be its new mayor, a position he bilked from Ge. However, the town doesn't roll out the red carpet, with the town's wealthiest man, Chow, opposing Jiang.（剧情）
A short trailer clip showed "Matrix"-like footage of a bullet flying through their air.
"We've waited a long time for Jiang Wen to start work on another popular film, and finally that time has come," said Han Sanping（三爷）, chairman of China Film Group, at a press event in Beijing Tuesday. Jiang made a cameo in the Han-directed box-office record breaker "The Founding of a Republic."（建国大业）
Jiang said he used Ge and Chow's star power and reputation as actors to lure the other into the project. "I said to Ge You, 'Fat is coming, are you in?' And then I told Chow Yun-fat, 'Ge You's in, are you in?'"
The two took quite a bit of convincing, "I wrote each a letter -- the script -- and sent it to them," Jiang said. "Then I wrote them each a second letter -- a check!"

有点犹豫要不要开英语新闻贴，因为暂时还不会有很多英文单词提到坤，不过看了几篇英语新闻，觉得还是会有些和我们的新闻不同的信息，比如这篇的剧情信息，还比如前几天我在看到早在10月下旬就有英语新闻提到刘+0，周yun，苗pu会加入这个片子，所以角度不同信息也许不同。先叫汇总贴吧，也不知道能有多少比较有价值的新闻？有条件的也一起来帮忙丰富消息吧！
此外我们也进步一下子，当练习英语啦！让英语飞吧！;P

BEIJING: International star Chow Yun Fat had to be hospitalised and put on intravenous drip earlier this week after catching a cold while filming upcoming movie “Let The Bullets Fly” in Beijing.

However, during the press conference for the movie in Beijing on Tuesday, the actor candidly joked that it was his co-stars’ formidable acting skills that ‘stressed’ him out rather than the cold bug.

“It seemed like there’s a ploy going on. One the first day of the shoot, I had a headache after witnessing Ge You’s masterful display. On the second day, I saw Chen Kun in action and my heart started beating so fast. He may be young but he is really good. Two days later, it was Jiang Wen and his brother’s turn and I couldn’t handle both of them. In the end, I had to be hospitalised and put on the drip for two days. This shows how good the actors are,” said Chow.

Touted as Asia’s “Ocean’s Eleven”, “Let The Bullets Fly” features big names such as acclaimed Chinese actor Ge You and Jiang Wen, who also doubles up as director for the movie.

In the film, Jiang plays a bandit chief who tries to take over a remote provincial town in 1920s China, only to meet resistance from a triad leader played by Chow.

The US$18 million (S$24 million) movie is slated to be released in the second half of 2010.

The trio clearly had a good time working together judging by the friendly bantering and ribbing at the press conference on Tuesday.

When the director was asked how he managed to get Chow and Ge on board, he replied, “There are actually two ways to invite them. The first is to tell Ge, ‘Chow is interested, are you on board?’ Next, I will inform Chow that Ge is interested and ask him if he will be joining us. Both will definitely be interested.

“My second method is to tell Ge that Chow wants his role, and likewise, tell Chow that Ge is eyeing his role,” said the award-winning director on his plans to ‘con’ them.

However, Jiang did not resort to either method.

“In the end, I used a third method. I wrote them a 140-page letter, which is the script, and followed up with another short letter, a cheque,” he said.

Despite having just recovered from the flu, Chow was in his comedic element.

“I ignored the first letter and only took notice of the second letter. I don’t know how much was written on the cheque as my wife kept it, but I understand that there were a lot of zeroes on it.”

With three superstars on set, who calls the shots?

Jiang said, “Look at how you guys address them here, ‘Master Ge’, ‘Fat-Gor’, and when it comes to me, it’s just ‘Jiang Wen’. This clearly shows who’s calling the shots.”

Chow immediately refuted the claim, saying, “When I and Ge You felt that we had done a good take, he would jump in and say that we required another take. It happened so many times.”

Ge backed Chow adding that the situation changes when Jiang is acting alongside them.

“When the three of us are involved in the scene, he will approve the take even if the both of us thought that it needed a retake. Now, who is the boss here?” said Ge.

念着海蓝妹妹帮我看网络语，我也就献丑帮她看看英文吧。下面是将月亮的＃1，＃18，＃21，＃22，粗翻了一下。大家将就看个大概吧。

＃1：“子弹”女仍然神秘：姜文电影全体男星揭晓，女主演未知

北京——姜文导演和英皇电影公司揭晓了《让子弹飞》的男星阵容，但仍将女星阵容掩藏不曝。

这部由姜文（《太阳照常升起》）导演的影片，由他和香港奇人周润发（《藏龙卧虎》）以及1994年嘎纳影帝和中国票房红人葛优（《活着》）主演。这是三人头一次合作，是葛和姜继周小文1996年的《秦颂》之后的第一次重聚。

英皇和姜文的不亦乐乎电影公司联合投资一千八百万美金。两家曾合作过《太阳照常升起》（黑体部分如月亮译文）英皇负责海外销售，其中包括参加本周在Santa Monica（加州的一个小城，属洛杉矶）的美国电影交易市场。

值得注意的是舞台上没有任何女主角。姜说制片方不许他说，所以他也就丝毫不透。

影片是中国西部片，以姜扮演1920年左右四川的一个土匪为主，姜骑至一个小镇冒充是新镇长——一个他从葛手里抢来的位置。但是，镇里的大富周并没有滚出红地毯来欢迎姜。

一个短片花放出象《黑客帝国》般的场景看一颗子弹划过空中。

中影领头韩三平于星期二在北京的新闻发布会上说：“我们等了姜文很长时间来创作又一部观众喜爱的电影，现在终于来了”。姜在韩导的破票房纪录的《建国大业》中有短小精悍的表演。

姜说他利用葛和周的明星力量来诱惑另一方加入。“我对葛优说，发哥要来，你来吗？然后我对发哥说，葛优要来，你来吗？”

两人都信以为真，姜说，“我给他们每人寄了一封长信——剧本，然后又写了一封信——支票！”

＃18：周润发住院打点滴

北京：国际影星周润发早在这周因为在北京拍摄新片《让子弹飞》患上感冒而住院打点滴。

然而，在星期二的新闻发布会上，他直率地开玩笑说是和他串戏的演员的高超演技而非感冒病毒将他拖垮。

周说：“好像是一场阴谋。第一天，我看见葛优大师级的表演，就头痛。第二天，我看见陈坤的表演，我的心就跳得好快。他虽然年轻但非常棒。两天后，姜文和他弟弟一起来，我就受不了了。最后，我上医院打了两天点滴。由此可见这些演员有多棒。”

被称为亚洲的《十一罗汉》，《让子弹飞》由中国著名演员葛优和姜文领衔，姜也是该片导演。

电影里，姜扮演二十年代中国的一个土匪头领，想占领一个偏远小镇，可是受到由周扮演的地头蛇的抵制。

这部投资一千八百万的电影预计2010年的下半年上映。

由三位在新闻发布会上的友好玩笑和轻触看得出他们工作得很愉快。

当导演被问到他是如何将周和葛签到手，他说：“有两个办法。一是告诉葛优，周有兴趣，你上吗？然后，我再告诉周，葛有兴趣，你来吗？两人肯定都有兴趣啦。”

这位获奖导演继续说明他的蒙骗计划：“我的第二招是告诉葛优周想演你的角儿，同样，告诉周，葛优看上他的角儿。”

但姜文哪招都没用。

他说：“最后，我用的是第三种方法。我给他们写了一封140页的长信，叫剧本，加上一封短信，支票。”

尽管刚刚从感冒中恢复，周处在喜剧状态。

“我没管第一封信，只看了第二封。我不知道支票上是多少，因为我太太收起来了，但我知道有很多零。”

三位大腕同场，听谁的呢？

姜说：“看你们怎么称呼他们，‘葛大师’，‘发哥’，到我这儿，姜文。这不明显看出谁大吗？”

周马上反驳道：“我和葛优觉得我们演得好，他会喊停让再来一遍，好多次了。”

葛帮腔说姜和他们一起演时，就不一样了。

葛说：“我们仨一起演时，即便我俩觉得还要再来一条，他也让过。所以（你看），谁是老板？”

土匪头子姜文，装成镇长，与暴君豪绅周润发，有一场比智慧斗残暴的殊死较量。

背景设在中国混战的二十年代，臭名昭著的张姓土匪头来到一个偏远小镇，装作是新任镇长，这个他从一个小骗子老唐那儿抢来的身份。妄想猛赚一把的张匪头，很快就碰上当地的暴君豪绅黄某，展开了一场斗智斗残的殊死搏斗。

第一批官方发布相片亮出一对骗子夫妻，由葛优和刘嘉玲扮演。刘的角色曾向张曼玉提过，被她因对拍摄环境艰苦的担忧而谢绝。

是啊，我也觉得别扭。慌忙注册进去探探，看来想编辑还费点儿周折，要先填表上报，审查后发放。填照片先缴费（～8美金月费或是～55美金年费，但不清楚管什么，还没看全，要去上班了）。

The Jiang Wen directed, Chow Yun Fat, Ge You, Carina Lau Ka Ling, Jiang Wen, Chen Kun starred Western legend LET THE BULLETS FLY today held its first press conference in Beijing. Jiang Wen, Chow Yun Fat, and Ge You united to join Chen Kun, Yao Lu and other key actors in a group appearance. Director Jiang Wen arranged for an all male actor for the first event. All the actresses will wait for the next promotion.

At the event, Jiang Wen, Chow Yun Fat and Ge You sat in a row across the stage as their strong aura had the entire venue under its spell. In response to the host's difficult questions, the three Best Actors obviously had chemistry. Speaking of this "dream team", Chow Yun Fat said that this was a film that made him very excited and happy. Ge You expressed with his usual humor that the team was very fresh and very interesting. Director and actor Jiang wen honestly said, "LET THE BULLETS FLY's Golden Palm prize chase relies on Cannes Best Actress Master Ge, the Oscar is up to Fat Gor, the other brothers are responsible for the Mainland box office. As for me, I am responsible for bringing them together and make a movie that everyone can understand!" Working with Jiang Wen and Ge You for the first time, Fat Gor expressed that everyday at work was very pleasant and claimed that they were not easy targets. As for the shoot, Fat Gor joked, "Everyday I feel how amazing my co-stars are. On the first day, when I saw how great Ge You's acting was I felt dizzy. On the second day I saw Chen Kun, who really shouldn't be underestimated. His acting was truly amazing and made my heart beat. After a few more days, I saw Jiang Wen and his brother Jiang Wu. I couldn't take both of them and finally I had to go to the hospital for an I-V. I went a few days ago at 7:15 and had it for two days. I say this group of young, middle age and old are very amazing."

At the event, the host gave the team the chance to give a brief description of the story. Yet the actors all began to practice Tai Chi. Ge You revealed that in the film he played a swindler who the Jiang Wen played highway robber robbed, then came to Fat Gor's town. However, Jiang Wen denied Ge You's story and said that Ge You told that story blind. According to the promotion, Ge You who truly played a swindler was married to Lau Ka Ling. They were star crossed as they had extravagant times but also had down on their luck times. They even had to fight for their lives with weapons.

Someone missed Fat Gor's past character humor and asked whether LET will have comedy elements. Fat Gor joked, "No, Ge You got them all. If I perform well, he is done for. That's why I play the boss." Ge You repeatedly denied that. Fa Gor was asked whether he meant that Ge You could only play comedy? They looked at each other and laughed. Fat Gor even said, "Comedy is no problem. If I have to play it add four more zeroes for one part. For even four more zeroes I play two parts."

The host asked how Jiang Wen landed Ge You and Chow Yun Fat. Jiang Wen said that he originally could have swindled two Best Actors but he was useless. He only sent an one inch thick letter each to Chow Yun Fat and Ge You. When the host asked about the letter's content, Jiang Wen joked that actually it was a script and a check. However Fat Gor claimed that he didn't even see the script and only looked at the check. He joked that the check was already in his wife's hands and all he knew was it had a lot of zeroes. Reportedly the almost 200 million legendary epic LET THE BULLETS FLY was a story that took place in the Beiyang Warlord era
in Southern China. It was planned for a mid next year release.
